Reflecting on our ‘Design your own Christmas jumper’ competition

Looking back on our 'Design your own Christmas Jumper' competition, and celebrating community spirit, creativity, and our support for Save the Children.

January 9, 2025

Our goal

At Weird Wolf Agency, we believe that a strong sense of community is key to what makes life, and business meaningful.

So, this Christmas, we decided to take that belief to heart with a special competition designed not just to spread festive cheer, but also to raise awareness and funds for a cause close to our hearts: Save the Children.

Encouraging creativity for a good cause

Our vision was to invite everyone from our local community to tap into their creative side and design the ultimate Christmas jumper! By including children in the competition, we hoped to not only highlight their incredible talents but also engage families and encourage them to support Save the Children, a charity doing life-changing work for children around the world.

The response was overwhelming. People from all walks of life took part, submitting their jumper designs through our social media platforms and email. It was such a joy to see participants’ visions come to life. Each submission was packed with so much thought, personality, and festive spirit. From sequinned snowflakes to hand-drawn reindeer, every design seemed to tell its own unique story. What struck us most was the amazing level of detail and creativity — some of the designs could’ve easily been worn as real Christmas jumpers!

We loved how each entry captured the magic of the holidays while being incredibly thoughtful and fun. The spirit of competition wasn’t about winning alone but about coming together as a community, celebrating the season, and doing something great for charity. That’s what made this initiative so special.

A difficult decision: Choosing our Christmas Jumper Competition winners

After receiving so many wonderful designs, choosing the winners was no easy task. Every single submission showcased a high level of creativity, making the decision more challenging than we anticipated. In the end, however, we couldn’t choose just one winner. Both Jude and Sophie stood out for their vibrant and captivating designs, and it felt right to celebrate their talent together. Their winning designs captured the holiday spirit in a way that resonated with us all.

Christmas Jumper Competition Winners

We were thrilled to send each of them a £20 Amazon gift voucher as an early Christmas present on Christmas Eve. We knew their creativity deserved to be rewarded, and this small gesture seemed like the perfect way to do that!

Honorary mentions

As if narrowing down the main winners wasn’t challenging enough, we also wanted to acknowledge the incredible effort that went into all the submissions. Every design was unique, and picking out additional categories to highlight this exceptional creativity was a fun yet tricky task! That’s why we introduced the following special categories to shine a light on standout designs:

Best use of materials:

For the most innovative and resourceful use of festive materials.

Most festive design:

Capturing the joy and wonder of Christmas in every inch.

Best colour palette:

Showcasing the most imaginative use of Christmas colours.

Best attention to detail:

Innovative use of colour combinations that required meticulous care and precision.

Most glamorous design:

Adding that extra sparkle to the holiday spirit.

Narrowing down winners in each of these categories felt just as difficult, but we wanted every participant to know how much we appreciated their immense talent. From intricate stitching to fun, oversized pom-poms, each jumper showed just how much love and joy went into the design process.

Supporting a Cause that matters

The highlight of this competition for us wasn’t just about celebrating creativity—it was also about doing our part to support a charity that does so much good. Save the Children has been on the front lines, helping children across the globe in ways that are truly life-changing. Whether it’s providing education, relief, or emergency aid, their efforts are critical in improving the lives of children in need.

By involving children in this competition and engaging the broader community, we hoped to raise both funds and awareness for the amazing work Save the Children does. We know that every bit counts, and with the support of our local community, we raised much-needed funds for this wonderful cause.

What’s next?

Looking ahead, we can’t wait to continue this tradition of fostering creativity while giving back. This competition not only gave us the chance to celebrate our amazing community but also reinforced our belief that local events can have a far-reaching impact when tied to meaningful causes.

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in our Christmas Jumper Competition! Whether you submitted a design, helped share the competition with your friends, or simply supported the cause, you made this event an absolute success. We can’t wait to host more competitions like this in the future and continue to bring the community together in fun, meaningful ways. And of course, a big congratulations again to our incredible winners — Sophie and Jude — you are true artists and your creativity shone through in the most remarkable way. Happy New Year to all, and here’s to more community celebrations and giving back in 2025!
