However, despite their in-salon brilliance, their digital presence fell short in reflecting their vibrant brand. Their visual identity, particularly on Instagram, lacked the consistency and uniqueness needed to stand out.
Though Meraki Hair Salon excelled in colour harmony for hair, they struggled to translate this mastery into their visual brand identity. Reliance on generic templates hindered their social media engagement, and despite having a clear vision, they found it challenging to bring their ideas to life for both digital and print platforms.

Text posts lacked the visual impact of in-salon services.
Meraki’s Instagram feed contained a variety of mismatched fonts and highlighted a clear disparity between the quality of hair expertise shown in the photographic posts, and templated informative posts.
The smallest things combine to have the mightiest of impacts.
Using harsh black and white can be jarring, tiring for the eyes, and feels disjointed from the somewhat ethereal watercolour background. Small subtleties in spacing, font sizing and logo usage when combined, make a huge difference, especially in such a small space.

Colour palettes.
We meticulously analysed Meraki’s aesthetic and brand vision to develop custom primary and complimentary colour palettes that encapsulated the salon’s essence. This palette ensured versatility and coherence across all platforms.
Logo optimisation.
While retaining the existing primary logo, we crafted a secondary version optimised for smaller formats, ensuring brand recognition regardless of the platform.
Typography.
Introducing a complementary font for headings added a distinct visual hierarchy and enhanced the overall brand aesthetic. This new typography was chosen to reflect Meraki’s sophisticated, unique and trend-aware image.
Imagery and graphics.
To elevate the brand’s visual impact, we curated a library of complimentary imagery and custom graphics that aligned with the new colour palettes and typography. Utilising the latest AI image generation tools, we created bespoke background images, adding depth to the brand’s visual storytelling.
